Question:

Odor eliminating candles?

I constantly burn scented candles. I do have a lot of friends that smoke as well as myself and sometimes it is just too much.

There is a nice candle store nearby and they smell smoke elimating candles, and she sells a ton of them.

I was wondering seeing as how they are an odor eliminating candle, would it also eliminate the scent from my scented candles?

  1. It probably will. Until you know for sure, just burn them at different times.

  2. Odors are caused by volatile substances. An open flame can burn these substances but not very fast. All of the air in the room would have to pass through the candle flame.

A scented candle contains volatiles in the wax which is released by heat. Even unscented candles will cause a slight odor since wax contains volatiles.

  3. You have a point there Bev.~~ Since we have no smokers in our home I don't need candles for that. Sometimes I need something to eliminate my little dogs order after she has been outdoors in the hot humid air we have here.

You need to ask the makers of the candle's how they work.

Also, are they smokeless candle's ? I was buying what I thought was good candles and around where they where was smote on the cabinets & furniture. I stopped using & got a gel that is absorbing orders.~~ Good luck, I'm interested.
