I've been having a bad odor and I can't see the gyno until september. What can I do until then so it won't be so bad? I'm paranoid people can smell it. I shower every day so bad hygeine isn't the reason. Could I use baby wipes?

  1. You should get a Vagisil screening kit it will tell you if you have an infection or not. Especially if you have a fishy smell. I was going through the same thing so I bought a kit and found out that I had BV (Bacterial Vaginosis). You can only treat BV with antibiotics or creams that your doctor can give you. If you do have BV and don't get treatment then the infection will get much worse: itching, swelling and pain. Trust me it sucks.

  2. its not a bad thing i promise...its pretty much normal.  i get that 2 and its best to leave it alone.  baby wipes wont do it because the smell is from inside u...n u dont want 2 put wipes up there(or down there) but its mostly just u being paranoid(not that the smell isnt there its just that you are looking for it and others prob arent) but if it concerns you still than you can put on purfume(normal places and 1 squirt "down there" but over ur clothes...u dont want n e thing bad going on)...hope thats enuf info 4 u

  3. Yes, you can use baby wipes. Use the unscented ones.

You may have a yeast infection. Very common.

  4. If you do not have an unusual discharge or irritation, then you could try this:   n o tight fitting clothes, no spandex, no nylon panties.  Use white cotton panties so air can get there.   You can change them if necessary.   No scented soaps--use something gentle, such as Ivory.

If you have irritation or discharge, call and ask for your appointment to be moved up.

  5. Hey hun,

In the mean time, you can use feminine wash, such as Summer's Eve, Vagisil, etc..

I use that all the time to clean my outer v****a and it has decrease the strong odor. (I can't shower without it now) :)

If you have unusual colored discharges or if you had been taking antibiotics, then you might have a yeast infection. Eat yogurt! I heard a yogurt a day keeps yeast infection away in women.

But see the gyno to ask about it if you're still concerned.

  6. It might be a yeast infection.  I would first let your doctor know that their is a possibility that could be what it is-they may get you in sooner for that reason. Baby wipes/feminine wipes may help. Wearing a little bit loose of underwear could help. Also wearing white cotton underwear may help clear things up-it will help ventilate that area and less bacteria will build up.

However, it could be normal-many woman think their smell is worse than it actually is.

It could also be what you are eating. My odor has decreased dramatically after I started consistently eating yogurt and drinking cranberry juice.

That's a lot to take in, but I hope it helps.
