  1. Gp is right on, greatest ball striker of his time (tough to say of all time).

Ironically has written some of the worst instructional books of all time despite there popularity (how you say, overrated). Every beginning golfer should avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Arnold Palmer popularized the game. He was the " go for broke" guy who captured the imagination of the public, whose charges led to fans following him all over the course. Hogan was the methodical golfer who despite an inconsistent swing, developed his own method which proved successful to have won major tournaments. . Hogan was the more precise striker of the ball.

  3. Ben was a very methodical, disciplined player. Arnie was a risk taker that played well and was rewarded for taking risks. Both achieved similar results but Arnie was certainly more exciting to watch. That sells.

  4. Supposedly, Hogan.  But these days, it's purportedly Garcia. But you still have to put the stupid little ball in the hole in the least strokes possible.

  5. thats a good question, but i think, no.

  6. Absolutely.  His swing was perfection....and he made a religion of practicing...

  7. Ben Hogan was probably the greatest ball striker of all time.

In a few years we may be saying that about the Tiger.

  8. Yeah overall id said he was great player

  9. Hogan was much more precise.  Arnie played more "smashball - go for broke" style.

  10. Hogan was in many experts eyes, the single best ball striker of all time.  Palmer was a great player, but is not known for ball striking superiority.
