  1. Wow, GOOOD question.

Well you know Im going to say Aaron Pryor, but that was just brute aggression.

Roy Jones should DEFINITELY get honorable mention. From when he was operating as a mid he had DEVASTATING power..enough that when he was in his prime I could put him up against anyone in any era and I could see him basically killing them (and thats a statement considering Im matching him up against the likes of Hearns and Hagler).

But PLEASE....PLEASE dont forget the true slam-blam....Kosta Tsyzu. Pound for pound...he hit harder with either hand.

  2. 1. Julian Jackson

    2. Carlos Zarate

    3. Thomas Hearns

    4. Not on your list but id have Felix Trinidad

    5. Khaosai Galaxy

  3. Frm the list of yours Touhguy,Id have to go...1.Tommy Hearns2 JCChavez.3Rubin Olivares.Pipino Cuevas4.Aaro Pryor 5.Stanley Ketchel. If i had picked my own list id have mike Tyson as the no 1.

  4. Chavez, Hearns, Pryor, and not on there, Hagler, Roy Jones Jr.

  5. Of those on your list, in my opinion the top five hardest punchers pound for pound were:

    1. Thomas Hearns

    2. Jimmky Wilde

    3. Carlos Zarate

    4. Wilfredo Gomez

    5. Sandy Saddler

  6. I would probably go

    1) Hearns.

    2) Wilde

    3) Gomez

    4) Galaxy

Chavez and Pryor usually wore people out so I wouldn't call them one punch KO guys.

    You could add:

Graziano, Robinson, Mugabi,Norris, Jackson of the top of my head

  7. One stands out for me Henry Armstrong, not 100% sure but did he not win championship at three different weights

  8. Great question! Hearns comes to mind due to two incredible KO's. Cuevas and Duran. But I'll go for Zarate. At one point he was 50-0 with 49 KO's. He retired and then made a comeback. His final record 66-4 with 63 KO's

Hard to pick against that ratio.

#1 Zarate pound for pound best Ko ratio

#2 Hearns nobody rocked Duran like he did

    #3 Julian Jackson

#4 Young George Foreman, he wasn't as devastating in the comeback

    #5 Wilfredo Gomez 44 wins 42 ko's

  9. None of your list are pound for pound best punchers Kieren27 got it right the best puncher pound for pound would have to be Kosta Tsyzu

He was one of a few fighters that could fight well above his class

  10. From your list, Thomas Hearns immediately sticks out over the others in my opinion.

  11. I couldn't believe you wouldn't include Thomas Hearns in your top 5. He brought the power from welter weight all the way to light heavyweight.

  12. Hearns, Jackson and Gomez were the hardest punches on this list.  However,  Tommy Hearns was the more effective puncher.  He made better use of his power so he was the better KO artist.

Chavez wasnt really a KO artist.  He wore opponents down and took a better punch than nearly anyone.  He was just so tough that even brutal punchers had a hard time hurting him.

Look at Edwin Rosario, who should also be on this list,  He hit Chavez a bunch of times.   Who can forget the smile on Chavez' face as he rammed Rosario into a corner and battered him to defeat?  That's gotta take a man's will away.

  13. jimmy wilde

    bob foster

    tommy hearns

    edre jofre

    carlos zarate

would have said fitz simmons who wasn't really a heavyweight.

also just hovering under the top 5 is khaosai galaxy, one of my all time favourites.

  14. On your list? Chavez and Hearns stand out from the rest. Hagler devastated Hearns in two rounds, though and he's not on your list.
