Off a fair mark, Dewala all set to make impact in Book Seasons Restaurant At Southwell Racecourse Handicap (Div II)
Michael Appleby’s 3-year-old, Dewala, showed plenty of improvement when securing the third position behind a strong runner at Southwell last week. After doing reasonably well in a 1-mile maiden here, the JJMC Racing-owned is all set to make a huge impact
in the Book Seasons Restaurant At Southwell Racecourse Handicap (Div II), to be held on Tuesday, November 20th.
Off a fair mark back in a 1m4f handicap, the daughter of Deportivo looks quite dangerous. She knows this track well, and has run several very good races here in the past. Ahead of going on summer vacations, the bay filly shared the podium twice here.
Bred by A. M. Wragg, the dashing filly was rusty on her seasonal comeback here, when finishing 10th in the field of 12. Her misery continued at Windsor, where she completed the order of finish. After two terrible losses, the 3-year-old raised
her game to get back to the right track last time. This trip is likely to suit the filly; therefore, one should not ignore her chances.
The main danger to Dewala is Neil´s Pride, who has also earned good odds. The 3-year-old has not yet get off the mark, but her consistent run is really impressive. The Richard Fahey-trained was fourth on her previous two starts. It might prove expensive
to trust her blindly, but she should be thereabouts on Fibersand debut.
Out of others, no one is likely to make an impression. Tobrata has not won in last 30 starts, and holds a poor Southwell record under his belt. Mesariya has plenty to prove with hood reapplied. The Tony Coyle-trained has not shown much for the new yard,
and we expect no surprise.
General Tufto has recorded 10 victories here, but the recent form is not impressive. Charles Smith’s charge is on a good mark, and could prove dangerous.
Nippy Nikki’s patchy record of 0-10 will prevent the punters from supporting her. Back from a break, she needs to be at best to do something special. Ceto has shown only little in three runs since coming back from a long break of two years.
