  1. The main difference between off-road and motocross bikes is the set-up. the off-road bikes will probably have electric start for if you stall on the trail while the motocross bikes wont because they are lighter and the electric start makes the bike alot heavier.

    Hope this helped

  2. Be careful if you get a 4 stroke MX bike because the rebuilds are VERY expensive. 2 Strokes are cheap to fix. 4 stroke trail bikes that are not mx'ers will live forever with basic maintenance but not keep with the mxers on the track. You should be able to hang close in the woods if you get good. I'm thrilled with my KDX. It'll hang with anything in the woods but it won't catch the 4 strokes in the straights on the mx track.

  3. motocross definitely

  4. if your a beginner go with a four stroke bike. Many motocrossers use the four stroke bike as it has more torque and more traction than the lighter snappier 2 stroke bike. 2 Stroke bikes are snappy and you really need to wind out the bike keep the rpms up for the power. Both bikes have power, both will keep up, that depends on the rider.

A four stroke bike is a bike more versatile as it is easier for woods or trail riding.

Personally I think a 2 stroke is much more fun to ride, but as a beginner you will not go wrong with a thumper
