I am currently in the off season of my hockey season and i was wondering if there are any specific workouts i can really do to help develop needed muscles. Should i be running or just doing more leg excercises, and should i also be working and other specific places.

  1. You need to do interval training. sprint 40 yards jog 40 yards.

will keep you in shape for next season.

  2. Run 1 mile forwards then 1 mile backwards and then a half mile cooldown (fowards). Running backwards works other muscles in your legs and will really build up their overall strength.

Work on your core, crunches, leg lifts, wall sits, and supermans are good for that.

All of this can be done for free, if you have any workout equipment shoot me and email and i'll send you some other stuff that I have.

  3. You need to go on the bike and then the treadmill for 30 min each and than you need to do a leg press thingy for 30 min ive been doing this for years and i am the fastest person on my team

  4. In my opinion you should go to a good camp(s) to keep your skills up and ready for tryouts. If you don't want to go to a camp, go to usahockey.com and watch the dryland training videos and perform the workouts properly. You should be going to a gym as well to keep your legs in shape.
