Can anyone suggest an area to stay in. Northshore is the obvious one, but I am concerned that it will be too big most of the time, where I would like to be able to get out of bed and walk to a consistant break that isnt to large at that time of year.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. North shore will be the best.. Don't worry about being too big in all places. you will be able to find spots with the size you're looking for.. There must be 40 diff. spots up and down the coast. 8085967873 is the number to the local surf report here. Its an updated recording of the swells.. great info. Alii beach is a nice break, and depending on the swell direction, when pipe is way overhead, this break will be 2 ft hawaiian( 5 ft ) Just be wary of the reports because most locals refer to hawaiian heights  which are measured from the back of the wave. Also talk to someone about the reefs, because they can be pretty damaging if you aren't aware of the currents and depths. I've seen many tourists leave with injuries.. Be careful, but none the less have a blast!!  We have the best overall surfing in the world..  Respect Da h*i, and have fun.. Leftovers is one of my favorite breaks!!

  2. North Shore will be too big thats when the north swells start pumpin....be safe, and have respect
