  4. dont drink the water

it may be a resort destination but its still mexico

and obviously dont eat anything that is washed in their water either... veggies, fruits, etc.  if its made with it (and then cooked) and you arent germaphobic then its ok.

    great beaches

    they had suprisingly good waves

i would check out the rainforest too

they have some zip line type thing that goes over

but i didnt get to go because we went on a cruise and were only there for a day

oh yeah, and they will basically serve beer to anyone over the age of 4

  5. That's a lot of good advice except, people stress out a little too much about drinking the water. A little caution is called for in outlying areas, but it is reasonably safe in town or resort areas. A couple more web sites to check out. http://www.puertovallarta.net

Hope you enjoy P.V. as much as I do.

  6. Puerto Vallarta is awesome.

The bay is beutifull, the best beaches ar both in the north and south ends of the bay.

The Malecon is the downtown beach front walk full of restaurants bars and shops.  Great Italian food at La Dolce Vita.  You can get authentic Cuban Cigars and niceLinen, Organic cotton clothes, and baithing suits at "NO NAME BOUTIQUE".  A really good dance club down the road is called DE SANTOS.

On the south end of the city a little beyond Conchas Chinas you can find a really cool Bungie Jump. If you jump from your feet you will dip shortly into the Pacific. Exhilerating.

Los Arcos is the greatest spot for Scuba Diving.  If your into sailing one of Mexico Best sailing schools is at the Marina in Paradise Village over in Nuevo Vallarta.

The Best Tostadas are at a very famoes eatery called "Las Ocho Tostadas"

Archies Wok is a great Thai- South East Asian restaurant in the Romantic district also known as Playa Los Muertos.

    Tsunami Sushi is delicious.

There is really great golf courses in the area.

A really cool adventure day trip company is called Vallarta Adventure. y favorite is the Canopy adventure, You swing from tree to tree like 300 feet up in the jungle canopy in the bottom of the sierra. WOW...

There is so much to do.  Go fishing... If you go closer to FEB you can go Whale Watching...

You can rent a car and drive South to the hippyish town of Sayulita.  There are cheap and nice places to eat there. also good place to surf and boogie board.

If you walk down Nuevo Vallart Beaches in the middle of the night you will see bunches of sea turtles leaving their eggs.

Have fun and beware of places the have "Open Bars" As they sometimes serve adultered drinks, or fill liqour bottles with stuff that is worst than wells.

PV is safe. If your looking for trouble you will find it.  Do not pee in public.  I have many friends who have slept in Jail for peeing in public around the Malecon area.

  7. Don't drink the water, wash your hands a lot, and hold on to your wallet.

  8. I have been there 3 times.  I am not sure what area you are staying.  Make sure to go downtown to the romatic zone.  May poeple staying in the hotel zone miss it.  Take the canopy tour.  http://www.vallartaonline.com/ is a great resourse.  contact me and will answer any questions
