Is anyone else tired of seeing people in the office who are dressed for the beach?

Also, what is it with men wearing bright golf shirts and thinking they are dressed up?

  1. don't for get to accessories!  you can wear plan stuff but ify ou accessories good it makes you look dressed up!

if your at the office then it shouldn't matter what you wear unless your meeting with other clients!

    but thats my opinion!

  2. Men don't know how to dress. i know a man who's wife picks his clothes out for him...

  3. hey man, im wearing a bright hawaiian golf shirt at the office right now, so you can stfu.

  4. Yeah, it seems business casual has gotten much more casual over the years. Pretty much anything goes at my office, except jeans, shorts or Tshirts.

  5. I know what you mean one of my fellow workers wears a t shirt with a beer ad on the front at least once a week Yeah charming.

  6. Haha...I understand; however, it seems the standards have changed.  I put on a button-down shirt and call myself dressed up; conservatives say I still look like I'm gardening or something.  But then again, I just haven't been shopping in far too long, and so I need to buy some new, more professional clothes that don't have holes or stains.  I'm in college, so until this point, I have been able to get away with very casual dress.

  7. I so agree with you!  It really irks me when they wear flip flops to the office.  All day long, I hear this...flip, flop, flip, flop.

And what's worse is that the company's policy does not allow it!  Go figure.

  8. Gahh men, **** 'em.

    Hate 'em.

  9. The golf shirt thing is called "business casual".  As far as being dressed for the beach, that is managements fault for allowing it.

  10. I still work at a place that requires a long sleeve shirt and tie but I will admit that my company is definitely in the minority.

I actually like dressing up because it makes me feel more confident at work.  I'm also amazed at how differently you get treated when you go run errands during lunch.  People always are very nice to you and say "sir" a lot when you have a tie.

  11. It is a very interesting world the office. I use to work at bank head office and at the ATO. The bank had a much higher standard of dress. I worked in Sydney and Melbourne ATO's and the difference between the two cities was immense.

Now I live on the Gold Coast, and amongst many things that surprise me is the attire of the teachers at my daughters school. Some (the younger ones) may as well be going for a trip to the beach and or night club. I dont think I am being anal but how are you going to gain the respect of authority, if your shorts are the same length as your smoo and your boots come to your knee's (bear skin, no tights).

Careful or we will turn into our Nanna's.

A t shirt is not a dress shirt ever. And nor is a Hawain shirt ever a dress shirt.

    Man im getting old....

  12. Ugh!  Yes I am tired of seeing that!

They are dressed for the beach, some are practically dressed for working the strip club, some are dressed as though they are just out for the day with friends.

I don't like being stuffy but women looking like their b*****s are going to spill out of their clothing is not appropriate for a professional office.
