Office communicator?

well... i can never get office communicator to work on my personal computer so i was wondering what is an alternative to office communicator

Hey wakeup,

Office Communicator uses a number extensions to the SIP/SIMPLE instant messaging protocol for some features. As is the case with most instant messaging platforms, non-Microsoft instant messaging clients, as well as Microsoft instant messaging clients, that have not implemented these publicly available extensions may not work correctly or have complete functionality. In other words, for Microsoft to function correctly, everyone you communicate with must have the proper extensions in order for everything to work.

Instead of trying to keep up with extension updates from Microsoft, or informing your coworkers or friends to keep up, I think it would be wise to go with broader applications such as Yahoo or Skype. They are far better instant messaging platforms.
