A Nice officer pulled me over, said I didn't do anything wrong, my windshield was broken and so she wrote me a ticket, she said she didn't know what I was going to be fined, I would get a ticket in the mail. I never received the ticket. Today I got a letter in the mail saying I got my license revoked and a fine of $700! WTF? It said if I dont pay up in 10 days $300 extra will be added to my bail? ( bail? WTF?) I'm speechless, I find this ridiculous! I don't know what to do though, help! I don't have that kind of money, and epically over a windshield?! What do I do?

  1. Go down and find out what happened... it might be that you got someone else's ticket or something.

  2. You stated she wrote you a citation at the scene.  There is no reason for a second one to be mailed out.  You would have been given a certain amount of time to either pay the fine or contest the citation.  After failing to do so after quite some time, late fees and fines are added to the original fine.

The only way you ahve to pay bail is if you have a warrant for your arrest, which may happen after failing to pay a citation.  Get to the courthouse immediately and work this out.  If you can prove you have a poor financial situation, then you can probably work out a payment plan.

  3. Call them up and figure it out.  What the heck you asking us on Yahoo for?  Fix your windshield and keep the receipt.  Sounds like something got lost in the mail.  You should've called them when you didn't receive the ticket.  Your freedom aint nothing to take lightly.  If all else fails, get a lawyer.

  4. for less you could get a layer to clear it up most traffic lawyers fee's are pretty low probably close to 300 get it taken care of quick you have a warrant out for your arrest. my brother in law is a cop and if he sits behind a car at a red light he runs a check on it. jail will probably only be three days if you don't take care of it, but you will still have the fine

  5. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. What state are you in? If anything she should have given you a "Fix It" ticket which would mean if the windshield isn't fixed by the court date, then you would have to pay the fine. If you can furnish proof that you fixed the problem, then there shouldn't be any charges.

Go to court - talk to the judge asap - find out what your next steps are and get it taken care of. Chances are you wont have to pay that much.

    Good luck!
