Official: Aston Villa sign Shay Given from Manchester City – EPL News
Aston Villa have officially confirmed the arrival of the experienced goalkeeper Shay Given from Manchester City for a reported fee of £3.5 million. The 35-year-old shot-stopper has signed a five-year contract with the Villans.
The Birmingham-based club had been scouting for a goalkeeper after their veteran custodian, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953, left the club to join Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the ongoing transfer window.

A statement on the Villans official website read, “Aston Villa are delighted to confirm that Shay Given will be unveiled tomorrow (Tuesday) as the club's new goalkeeper, having agreed a five-year deal to June 2016.”
The club confirmed that Given was at the club’s Bodymoor Heath training ground over the past few days where he had undergone a successful medical test. The Irish international will sign a five-year deal with the Villans today.

Moreover, it was also confirmed that Given will be eligible to play in the Villan’s upcoming friendly against Walsall.
“He will be available for Thursday's friendly fixture against Walsall at the Banks's Stadium and for the club's participation in the Barclays Asia Trophy next week.”
Shay Given will now be relishing first team opportunities at Aston Villa next season and is expected to make his debut for the Villans against Walsall. Despite being completely fit, the 35-year-old made only single appearance last season.
