The Viola had been strongly linked with a move for the midfielder, and the owner Andrea Della Valle today confirmed that the club has secured the talent from Liverpool.

“ACF Fiorentina announce the arrival on permanent moves of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 Football Club.”
The price for the midfielder remains undisclosed as he signs a three-year contract with the Florence outfit, and it is also believed that the Reds will be paying a portion of his salaries for a couple of years.
Liverpool also released a statement confirming the move, and wished their outgoing player the best for his future:
“Liverpool Football Club can today confirm that Alberto Aquilani has completed a permanent transfer to Serie A side Fiorentina. The Italian midfielder joined Liverpool in 2009 but made just 28 first-team appearances having spent the last two seasons on loan
in his homeland. Everyone at the club would like to wish Alberto all the best for the future.”
Aquilani’s agent also spoke with TMW stating that his client is happy at having made the move to Fiorentina, as that is what he wanted.
The Viola midfielder’s agent also stressed that his client is eying a return to Italy’s international team, and insisted that the move to Florence has brought him a step closer to realizing his ambition.
When asked about AC Milan’s decision to snub a permanent move after the loan-period, the representative stated that they have no regret of missing out on the opportunity.
