Square Enix and Arkane break the silence and announce the official release dates for their upcoming titles after retailers were getting over-excited and posting release dates on their own.
www.dbuz.com recently covered the story of a number of retailers listing Hitman: Absolution as available for pre-order and posting end of September release dates. It turns out that Square Enix, in an effort to protect the fans of the Hitman series, have
come out and announced that the latest instalment of the game will hit stores in November.
According to the publishers, the game will release globally on the 20th of November, right in the heart of the hectic and fiercely competitive pre-holiday season period. The game is set to go up against the likes of Assassin’s Creed 3, Halo 4
and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in what is fast become a mouth-wateringly appetizing month for video game releases.
However, gamers who pre-order their copy of Absolution will be able to download and play Hitman: Sniper Challenge as early as the 15th of May.
According to the brand director of the Hitman series, Jon Brooke, “Agent 47 is the best in the business so it seemed appropriate to create the best pre-order reward possible for our fans.” Before continuing to hype the spin-off when he said, “Hitman: Sniper
Challenge is a way of thanking customers and giving them a taste of Agent 47’s skills from the moment they pre-order the game.”
As for another game that has been garnering quite a reputation for itself, Dishonoured is set to arrive early to the pre-holiday season party as it has been slapped with a 12th of October release date in Europe, with the US getting the game three
days earlier on the 9th of October.
Vlatko Andonov, the President of Bethesda Softworks, explained that he was pleasantly surprised how gamers were taking to the title and that they could expect the full lowdown at this year’s E3.
He said, "We are pleased that Dishonoured has captured people's attention. We are looking forward to sharing lots more information about the game leading up to its launch in October, and having a hands-on build of Dishonoured in our booth at E3!"
