  1. go pedrosa.....

  2. Looking scarily close to a one tyre make for 09. Yes Brno was iffy but the Michelin was all but a match today, Lorenzo no more than 3 sec away from Rossi, a far better rider on same bike.

Being an F1 muppet I think the 1 trye is affecting the out right pace and overtaking chances, I really hope Moto GP isn't heading the same way.

  3. Danni is just taking the huff.

Yes Rossi has switched to Bridgestone and it was a good choice, now pedrosa wants the same..

The lad just can't accept defeat.

  4. this is bad bad bad. we now know Rossi made the right choice. but Bridgestone themselves said they wanted competition. I wish they had stuck to their guns. I know Nicky will still be on Michelins. so that means another divided garage. so not only are we moving towards a control tyre but we are disolving teams. this is not good. Michelin fought back in F1 and im sure a firm the size of Michelin could bounce back here too. Things are starting to get out of hand throughout the Motorcycling world.

Edit.  I think the choice to change just before Indy is a show of desperation. New tyres on a circuit that unridden with questionable safety issues is strange to say the least. Also could the fact that Dani did very little testing have anything to do with the lack of rider input for Michelin. Bridgestone should have kicked his *** into touch.  I hope Shinya whups his *** at Indy.

  5. Hi Wiggysan

I can understand why Dani's done this, although it seems like a knee jerk reaction probably orchestrated by Alberto Puch rather than Dani Himself. I think HRC themselves had a rather large hand in it too. Doesn't seem so strange that Shinya got a factory spec spring valve engine does it? Who else has one of them..........Hmmm?? I was one of the doubters when Vale switched, but I've been proved completely wrong, so I think they've made the right decision as far as competition goes.

Ironically, this could actually be a good move as far as moving away from a spec tyre rule is concerned. As long as Jorge and whoever takes over from Nicky (probably Dovi) can be persuaded to stick with Michelin, and lets face it they've both generally done ok with that brand, both HRC & Yamaha factory teams can can work with a split Garage as Yamaha do now.

This will keep Michelin happy, as they will still have at least 2 factory riders. Tech 3 will still get the bulk of its sponsorship from Michelin (keeping them on the grid). Of course this is all dependent on Jorge & Dovi being happy to stay on french rubber, which I reckon they will as long as their results stay ok.

In the long term, it could be a good move for everyone on Michelins, as they will be re-doubling their efforts to beat Bridgestone. Michelin are just where Bridgestone were 3 years ago. Their time will come again.

That's if we don't get a spec tyre. Lets hope not. What will happen to Tech 3 if we do?

  6. He may be a great racer but I'll bet he's a pain in the @rse to work with.

  7. This may as well be one of the stupidest choices Dani has made. I don't get it. This season, with only one or two exceptions, was a great one for both Michelin and Bridgestone and in many races they were equal. Do I have to remind even the podiums Lorenzo got with his Michelin tires?

Pedrosa is just making excuses for having a couple of bad racing days. Switching tires in the middle of the season is not the smart thing to do. As the article in the soup said, it took Rossi many pre-season tests and a couple of gps to get it going with Bridgestone.

Repsol Honda has been using Michelin for so long and because Dani isn't man enough to admit it that some riders are better this season, doesn't mean he has to blame the tires.
