Official Serie A News: Inter Milan Sack head coach Gian Piero Gasperini after consecutive failures
Inter Milan have officially announced the sacking of the recently hired coach, Gian Piero Gasperini. The Italian tactician was the centre of criticism after being unable to find a victory in five games that he spent as the head coach at San Siro.
President Massimo Moratti was reported as saying that Gasperini was in a difficult situation after the recent failures. An official statement was released later on regarding the sacking of the 53-year-old former Genoa tactician. The club are on the hunt
again for a new tactician.
“FC Internazionale announces this morning, at the sports centre of Appiano Gentile, that first team training was directed by Giuseppe Baresi and Daniele Bernazzani. The club would like to thank Gian Piero Gasperini for his efforts with the team, and we express
our regret at breaking the relationship with the Coach.”
Gasperini was in charge for just five games. The Nerazzurri lost on four occasions and drew the remaining game. Many had predicted that the unconventional 3-4-3 approach of the tactician would be hard to adapt for the men in the blue and black jerseys. It
held true as most top players in the side simple failed to adjust. Star playmaker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 was the one to suffer the most; the gifted Dutchman was played too deep for him to make an impact.
The 53-year-old tactician responded to the news and expressed his sadness over his departure from San Siro. He revealed that in spite of him being on good terms with the club, results were not satisfactory and the decision had to be made.
“It is too bad that this relationship is over. I'm very sorry, but the results determine everything. There was a very good relationship with both the team and the board, and that's why right now I feel regret, a regret I believe is shared by all,” said Gasperini.
Claudio Ranieri, the former AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 today also claimed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger might be on his way
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567. A final decision will only come in the days to come.
