Official Windows service pack 3 updates to be installed?

Question

Hi, awhile ago i just gotten a message from the windows update for service pack 3 to be installed but i cancel as I'm not sure if i should get it and if i do what good or bad things might happened

If anyone has windows service pack installed can you tell me the good things and bad things you have encountered or heard from other people.

I'm using windows xp home edition with service pack 2 still.

I have installed service pack 3 and it audits your system and sets up a restore point before installation so I assume that you can return the computer to the state prior to the installation of the update. So far I have experienced no problems with it, but I think the start up seems to be slower. I am on a dial up connection so I cant be certain of this.

I am running SP3 right now on this computer and have been for about a week now.

I haven't had any problems.

i downloaded and installed it yesterday..............took about an hour.......system seems stable with no problems......u can always use add and remove programs to get rid of it if it causes u problems or use system restore

No problems here. If you have any problems you can always try a Systems Restore & take your PC back a few days.
