The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 striker suffered an injury on the last day of the season and since then, has not showed huge signs of progress which has forced Laurent Blanc to leave him out of the Les Bleus squad
On Sunday May 13, Loic Remy had a wry face when he found out that France national team Laurent Blanc had included him in the pre-list of the squad that will play at the Euros this summer. The game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247 was to be Remy’s last game for Olympique
de Marseille this campaign as he injured himself.
A race against the clock was thus launched as the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national team’s medical staff tried their best to get the striker to 100% well before the start of the competition. Laurent Blanc had selected the 25-year-old in the pre-selected list as he recognised
the importance of the former OGC Nice striker.
And, initial news seemed to be quite reassuring. As recently as last morning, Blanc murmured that the player was recovering well and even the medical staff was surprised to see how quickly Remy is getting back to full fitness.
However, nothing can be said for certain in football, least of all injuries. The final examinations taken by the player to prove his fitness were implacable to say the least. the final medical reports concluded that Loic Remy will not travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 and
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032. Though he has sufficiently recovered from his injury, Remy will not be fit for the start of the competition.
The statement issued by the French Football Federation has been very clear. Loic Remy will miss the Euros and has left the team’s training facilities at Clairefontaine.
Though a lesion healed sufficiently, delays in terms of getting to full fitness were not to be risked as time is short.
“Despite continuous care, good clinical practise, Loic Remy showed that a lesion had healed sufficiently on Friday. Time for the Euro 2012 is too short to expect return to competitiveness of the player so the medical staff and Laurent Blanc have decided
not to take him to the Euro 2012 finals. Loic Remy left the Centre Technique National Fernand-Sastre in the evening.”
Hopes for playing at the Euros have gone up in smoke for Remy and the player would certainly be gutted to see missing out on a tournament he desperately wanted to play in this summer.
