Official website for Twenty20 World Cup launched by ICC – Cricket News Update
As the hype surrounding the approaching mega event in the cricketing world increases, the official event website for the World Twenty20, due to kick off in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 on September 18, has been launched by the International Cricket Council today on September 12.
“The ICC World Twenty20 is the most eagerly awaited event in the cricket calendar in 2012 and we are excited to be able to provide fans with a world-class website to follow the tournament,” said the ICC’s General Manager (Commercial), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Campbell-c49176 Jamieson.
The website, which can be accessed from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625, has been created for the purpose of serving as a primary resource for those who wish to follow the event, and will contain all the latest updates on the tournament.
These include video highlights from both the men’s and women’s events, in addition to a match centre which will provide supporters live ball-by-ball coverage of all the matches played during the tournament. Fans will also be able to view behind-the-scenes interviews with their favourite teams, and leading players.
The latest information from the ICC will also be available on the website, providing visitors access to the ICC’s official social media channels – these include @cricketicc on Twitter, and http://www.facebook.com/cricketicc on Facebook.
The website launch comes amid a frenzy of growing excitement for the upcoming event. The 2012 tournament marks the 4th edition of the T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by Sri Lanka, from September 18 to October 7.
The first edition of the tournament was hosted by South Africa in 2007, with team India emerging as the champions, while the second was held in England during 2009, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 emerged victorious.
The 2012 event features 12 participating teams, and these have been divided into four groups – Group A (England, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747).
The initial stages of the upcoming edition of the tournament involve a series of 12 warm-matches, to be played between September 13 and 19. This will be followed by the Group stage, the Super Eight stage, the Knockout stage, the Semi-finals, and at long last the tournament Final.
