  3. lol wel you should but vegetarian cook books or go to vegetarian sites that can give you ideas if you plan on being something you should plan in advance.

  4. Congrats on going veg!

Aside from tofu, good vegetarian protein sources include almonds, black beans, cashews, fake meats, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, lima beans, peanut butter, pinto beans, seitan, soybeans, soymilk, sunflower seeds, and textured vegetable protein (TVP).

  5. Legumes and Pulses: Kidney beans, garbanzo beans, black eyed beans, mung beans (supposed to be the best!), etc..

Diary protein: Milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, etc

    Nuts: Almonds, walnuts, flax seeds.

Thats about how much I can remember!

Congratulations on being veggie! rememebr don't binge on too much of white bread, white pasta, and cheeses...! You'll need plenty of fruts and steamed vegetables.

  6. Milk and eggs are great sources of complete protien and many vegatarians eat those items as well as clams (clam chowder) which is also a good choice.  If these are off your diet, I guess beans and rice are pretty good.

I am sure you will get more suggestions.  Good luck!!

  7. We don't eat tofu at all at our house.

Try this.  It's a tried and true vegan meal that I enjoy preparing and eating immensely...It's cheap and easy and even meat eaters like it!

The ingredients are 1 bag of Morningstar Farms ground, 1 large can of crushed tomatoes, 1 can of chili magic, a chichi's corn cake packet and a can of cream corn.

In a large pot, combine all the ingredients except for the corn and the corn cake mix. Heat until boiling and let it boil for like 8 minutes and it's ready.

Follow the directions on the corn cake mix and heat it in the oven. It's better to start the cake first because it takes a lot longer. You can time it out right after practicing though.

When both items are done, fill a bowl with half corn cake and half chili. Take a little corn bread and a little chili with each bite. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this recipe.

It's completely cruelty free, and it only costs about 11.50 to make it. It serves 4 people with too much and probably 6 if you eat normal portions.
