Ogbonna admits A.C Milan liking, Torino not willing to sell their prized star: Serie A news
Highly-rated Torino star, Angelo Ogbonna, has confirmed his liking for Italian Champions, A.C Milan.
Ogbonna has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the country and have put several clubs across Europe on high alert. Several top clubs including A.C Milan, Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester City are monitoring
the teenager.
The former Italian U-21 star hinted of a move to A.C Milan in the future and added that he really likes the club but it does not guarantee him playing for them in the future.
While talking to the reporters, Ogbonna said, “I do like Milan. However, that doesn’t mean that I will end up going there...”
Juventus manager, Antonio Conte, is believed to be a huge admirer of the youngster and tracked him throughout the summer. Along with the Turin giants, Liverpool also enquired about his services.
The defender is unsure about the interest of the clubs and revealed that he does not follow the transfer market and has no information regarding the Merseyside interest.
“I didn’t know about the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 link. I don’t follow the transfer market…”
On the other hand, Ogbonna’s employers, Torino, have made it clear that their prized star is not for sale at any price in the January transfer window. The Club Sporting Director, Gianluca Petrachi, revealed that his side is in
the process of rebuilding and cannot afford to sell the centre-back in January.
The Sporting Director added, “We don’t have the fear or the intention of revolutionising the squad in January. This is our squad and this is how it will remain. Ogbonna? He’s already made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave
Torino during the course of the season. As a result, he’ll definitely be with us until June.”
The 23-year-old’s impressive performances for his club also prompted Italian national team manager, Cesare Prandelli, to call him in the international squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers. However, the centre-back is yet to make
an international debut for the Azzurri.
