Seriously, how does this pick help McCain's chances in the fall? What can she do for his candidacy that Romney, Pawlenty and Ridge couldn't?

I think it is a rather cynical pick.  She doesn't bring much more than being a woman to the table.  That seems to have been McCain's primary motivation for picking her. If he was going to pick a woman I thought he might have picked a different woman like Condi Rice, Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Christie Whitman.  But, what do I know.

Agree with you 100%. He should have went with Pawlenty or Mitt. This woman has some serious baggage
