  1. It's been two hours and my head is still spinning.

The Wings second line has about as much firepower as it's first.

P Poppa: I don't see them breaking up Hank, Pavs, and Homer.  That line has a lot of chemistry and it would be a mistake to break it up.

  2. its a lot of money for one year he obviously wants to be on a team where he knows he has a big chance on winning the cup. its kinda weird going to the team that just beat you in the finals, from probably hating them to know being part of that team. i think that the wings will probably be even better next year but you never know maybe the chemistry won't be there. but i think it will

  3. When I saw this news of this I said out loud, what the f*ck!!! This is rudiculous.

  4. We're going to win it all again!

  5. I think Detroit might have a rough time spreading the stardom. Too many stars on one team can cause a lot of locker room controversy. Look for Detroit to either be a mid pack team, or at the bottom. Too much hype is a bad thing.

  6. Well we won't get any worse! lol At first it will be kind of odd having Hossa on the team but after a while I'll be happy he's here.

I'd watch out if I was a fan of another team =) we might just take home a 12th cup

  7. THEY WONT BE WORSE

    OH MY GOSHHHHHHHHHH

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

  8. are you serious?????

  9. they should be a great team next year, barring injuries. I hope that Hossa blends well with there chemistry.

Homes- Its cool. everybodys talking about it. there were some before me too

  10. These wings are ridiculous!!!!

Hopefully the rest of the league will follow suit, to bring our game to that next level. If every team played with half the desire the wings did we would have a lot more sold out arena's this year.

  11. he's our... "enemy"

Adriana, yeah, it must've been really weird for Schneider and Bertuzzi. what a mind s***w!

add - tough guy, i have no point. i'll leave that up to the imagination of those curious enough to read. and your imagination. besides, it's YOU who is "making all the points". lol. why do you ask? feeling guilty? i just restated your opinion and showed appropriate references. care to retract some of it?

say, that's a nice Top Contributor badge you got there. are you gonna own up to your previous opinion? i just want to make sure that we have your full perspective. i have nothing to hide. do you? lol

add 2 - Homes, actually, i'm glad that you asked this question. i like your version much better. see above add on. i wasn't implying that your question isn't relevant. i just think that Ryan's WHOLE opinion should be considered. it is HIS opinion after all.

  12. Man My friend just called me and i thought he was playing a prank on me because, i read yesterday Holland said he wasn't gonna go after the big dogs...but HOSSA FOR 7 MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ...LOL this is awesome!!! I wanted the Wings to sign him in the trade deadline... YES YES YES!

  13. The Wings are a fantasitc team that just got even more fantastic-er.  But Hossa is a traitor and a money-w***e.  Seriously...the Pens offered 5 years at $7.1 mil per, but he goes for 1 year at $300K more.  What a money-grubbing b*****d.

I don't think he'll be able to stand up to the pounding he'll get in the Western Conference.  At least I hope not.

I'm just sad it won't be Kronwall punishing him.

  14. Yes, bringing in Hossa only adds more firepower to the RedWings.  Other than Hasek they havent lost any big time player.  They re-signed a few of their D-men and now they added more offense with Hossa.  Osgood will have to be good next year but if not Conklin proved he is a decent backup so no doubt the Wings will be even better come next year.

  15. When I read it on Y! Sports after getting back from Hancock (quality movie btw) I actually yelled Holy $h1t!  The Wings are going to be great next year.  They signed a very good backup goalie in Ty Conklin and now a phenomenal scorer in Hossa.  Next year is gonna be hot!

Hey Grig you think it might have something to do with him wanting to win a cup?  The Pens are losing players left and right so of course he jumped ship and looked for somewhere he has the best chance to win the cup next year.  I am very much willing to bet it was more about the length of the contract and the potential of the team than the 300K.

Ryman: I'd be willing to agree if it was any other team than Detroit.  Detroit has its all-stars, but not a single one of them is the flashy everyone look at me type.  The Wings are filled with mostly ego-less European players.  They are used to playing on teams with huge stars on them in international play.

  16. we got to KEEP UP with those Lightning down there... LOL

Better? I dont know... but they definitely didnt get worse. Sometimes after a CUP victory its hard to re-focus and bring the intensity again. I think this helps them to find the fire once more. Have to wait and see. We lost Drake and Hasek so far... replaced them with Hossa and Conklin... we will have to see.

  17. Yep.

They didn't lose anyone substantial, their superstars are in their prime, they won the cup, and they added the third leading scorer in the playoffs....

The only thing that could be an issue is whether or not Osgood can recapture the magic he found this year. But the Wings D is good enough that their goalies shouldn't feel too much pressure.

  18. Looks like were keepin Lord Stanley next year everyone!!!!  What a pick up for the Red Wings.  It just goes to show how great of an organization this truely is.  Even if he is a rent-a-player, Hossa will truely be valued in a red and white sweater!  How about a line of Hank, Hossa and Franzen, then you got Dats Flippula and Homer.  Good luck NHL and stick that one in you a$$ betman!

  19. I HATE THE RED WINGS!

  20. LOL!

I heard.... wow maybe next year they are going to be better. Anothher team i can,t wait to watch next season!

  21. What a hypocrite.

Oh well, we'll be better off with Jags and Orpik.

Well have to see, they are going to be great again unless they end up like the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have about every all-star and they still can't win.
