I have an Advent 9115 Laptop. Currently running on 2gb of ram and I know where this is positioned (on the underside, along with the battery and HDD), no problems so far.
Have thoroughly checked the spec of my laptop and have had it confirmed numerous times that I have TWO ram slots, now the fun begins!
As I had done the basic checks and looked on the underside of the laptop and taken off every cover that was possible, looking next to current ram (nope not there), under battery (no secret compartments there), by the hard disc driver (would'nt that have been nice)....but alas not a chance.
Alternative option, contact the 'Tech Guys' its one of their machines surely they will no....lol...yeah right, not a hope, sent an email (reply: we are working on it - working on what, just tell me where the other slot is) Spoke to them on the phone, 'nah, we did'nt build it'. Maybe not but you sold it.
Contact Advent surely they will know (how stupid can I get, why on earth would the manufacturers know, where they install the rams slots) and sure enough THEY DID NOT KNOW!!
Please oh please can anyone help, and if by chance it is where I think it might be (gonna a have a mad fit at this point, if it is) can somebody possibly help me work out how on earth you dismantle the keyboard to get to it (know about the clips round the outside but think there is something else holding it in place). If its not under the keyboard I am stuffed, because I have bought the exact same ram and would really like to get my laptop upto full spec (good piece of kit really). Thanks in advance for any and all help.
