Evaporation lines, On 6dpo I got a faint positive, and have several faint positives since, BUT unfortunately I just discovered much to my horror that the clock I was using to time the test time is running slow (like literally) I just noticed it (just noticed it when I used the microwave and clock didn't match up to the time I used) and so timed it with a digital watch, the other clock is running slow, instead of 10 minutes it's more like 15 minutes (not quite but fairly close).

So I guess that means all the tests are wrong yes? and that they are not positives at all but are evaporation lines, even though they had colour to them and not grey?

I just did another test to confirm my theory and yep it actually took about 12 minutes for the line to show up.

Soooo not fair, has anyone had this happen (what they thought to be evaporation lines) and yet turned out that they were indeed positive and were pregnant??

Seriously need some hope here.

  1. so what pregnancy tests are you using im so glad im not the only nutter out here that takes more than one test lol i got my faint is it there or not line at 8 and 9 dpo and when ive tested and got these lines ive always turned out to be pregnant i think when they say evaportion lines arnt they talking like a couple of hours after the test if you still getting your faint line 12 -18 mins then i think your still looking at a big congrats i have never seen a evap line in the past if it was neg then even later there was never a second line i think its time they sold a hpt multipack so us girls can do all the different tests at once lol cant you ring dr and get in for a bloodtest the results are usually the next day then you will know for sure and you can let go of that happy squeal xxxxxx

  2. They say if you look after 10 minutes its a ghost line.

A positive WILL show up almost immediately. you'll see it come up in the first 2 minutes of doing the test. Sorry if this doesnt help.

I am a serial tester too.. *I stand and confess*

I test from 5days prior to AF and now i'm 3 wks past i have cut it down to 1 every 5 days.. I believe i have tried 10 tests in the past few wks. Much to my dissapointment BFN all round.

I wish you all the luck, love, baby dust and happiness that your BFP comes true.!!

  3. I know that you are saying about the line taking longer than 10 minutes to show up faint positive, but I have to say that this has happened to me with 3 pregnancies and EVERY time I did end up to be pregnant.

My cycle is really irregular so I have done ALOT of tests and there has never ever been a second line in any time frame unless I was in fact pregnant.

    Don't give up hope yet.

My personal opinion is that you are pregnant.
