Okay, here's the deal:

It's my 16 year old cousin's birthday in about 2 weeks. He is your typical moody teenage lad, and does sports studies at college.

The family want to get him interested in arts and culture, in order to broaden his interests, and in fact he was really quite a good artist before he chucked it all in.

We're hoping to use a birthday present to rekindle his interest in arts and culture, but what do we get him?

  1. have you thought about tickets ?vouchers for a concert/theatre event?

  2. How about an art book? or drawing book? Or maybe photography. It depends why he stopped his artwork. May be he's just not interested anymore.

  3. Concert Tickets. www.ticketmaster.com

    I'm 16 and thats what I want..

  4. i would be savin my money right about now.see you at the soup line

  5. Ooo-er! This is tricky, lads arent the easiest.

Now this may be quite pricey, but have you thought about booking him a long or short weekend away to london to visit the tate moder art gallery and visit musuems?I know some may find this boring, but perhaps include seeing a concert or show? Perhaps all of your family can chip in.

Perhaps suggest to him that you will pay for him to join a night class in art, history or english? This might also help.Check out your local colleges for information if your intrested:)

Books might not be the greatest idea in the world, but if you find a intresting book he might be inclinded to read after a while it might just help him get back into the cultral arts.

You cant force him to go into something he doesnt want to, only time will tell if he wants to rekindle his intrest in culture unfortantly. So its best to support him in his stuides, and he will more than likely grow out of this moody stage!

Good luck and I hope he has a wonderful birthday!

  6. They sell these awesome drawing supplies that come in a box thats like a brief case.  It has every color pencil you could need, the shading pencil, erasers, markers.  My daughter received one (she can really draw) and she loved it.  It even comes with paper.  They can be found most anywhere.

  7. an ipod

  8. well first of all it depends which field in art he is good at, if its painting obviously the best thing is to get him some good paint and equipment from a specialised art shop

secondly it sounds like the family is going to ruin his 16th birthday, don't force him as you said he is a typical teenager, let him be
