Okay, so 6 days ago I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out: 2 on the top, and 2 on the bottom. My wisdom teeth had not grown in yet, they were still in my gums. The extraction and the recovery up to this point had gone extremely well. Then about 15 minutes ago, I was eating ice cream and with my tongue felt a hard thing where my tooth used to be on the bottom of my mouth. I looked in the mirror and saw this little cluster of yellow/clearish looking lines. What could this be? I have only eaten soft foods since the extraction, so it's not food. I swished my mouth with water many times. It hurt when I touched it with my tongue, but it doesn't really hurt anymore. I heard that you could get "bone slivers" after your extraction but I don't really know what that is or how to fix it? Please help me. I will call the oral surgeon tomorrow morning but can someone tell me what it might be and what to do about it in the mean time?

  1. I think it could have been the stitches from the closure, I had the exact same thing happen to me last summer when my wisdom teeth were pulled. They will eventually fall out. So good luck! I know how crappy it feels!

  2. It may be sterile gauze packing that they use after they extract wisdom teeth to control bleeding. Do you think you could try to remove it?
