Oh no! Sore, with tryouts today?

I have volleyball tryouts today at four, but my legs and shoulders are sore! I can't miss these tryouts, but I can hardly run or jump without it being painful!

Is there any way I can make myself NOT sore before tryouts at 4:00?

  1. Strech today and try to work through the pain at tryouts and put on a smile even if you want to cry

  2. A good series of stretching and some Icy-hot will relax your muscles and make it easier to deal with the pain. Get your muscles warmed up good before your tryouts and keep them warm and stretched. It will get easier to do as you get used to the movements and training of the sport. O and be sure to hydrate your body drink lots of water.

  3. Warm up properly and work the soreness out of your body, you're young you can handle it!

  4. Have a hot shower or bath to loosen your muscles and if you can, go for a massage around noon today.  Stretch it out and continue to stretch excessively.  If by four you haven't recovered, still go out and show some heart but leave the complaining at home, the coach will appreciate it and probably see past your aching muscles.

  5. your going to have to work though the pain and do your best

rest and time is the only thing that heals soreness

  6. Two aleve and a pint of tequila an hour before tryouts.

  7. I have the same problem. U just have to work through the pain!!! It doesn't matter how bad it hurts keep going and DO NOT GIVE UP! No pain No gain!!!! That's what i go by when it hurts so bad i want 2 quit!

  8. A tub of Ice water ... thats how the nfl players do 2 a days

  9. I've had the same thing happen to me!!! what i did was i iced my sore spots and stretched. i was so worried and i couldnt miss mine either but when i got there i kind of preped myself to work throught the pain but when you get there and start doing stuff you dont even feel it!

    good luck!

  10. Stretch, stretch, stretch! Stretch even if it's painful, because after, you will feel good. Then ice where it hurts for 30 min. then heat for 30 min.

Keep your muscles warm throughout tryouts. The only other thing is to work through the pain. Good luck!

  11. simply warm up! once you are warmed up and have stretched, the soreness temporarily goes away, and you'll be fine as long as you stretched everything before tryouts. but i the soreness comes back when you cool down. take a hot shower!
