I was changing the format size from my camera (Canon) and all the pictures are gone. Still says I've used 32KB but where in the world are my pictures?! I have read the manual but it doesn't say what to do when this happens. Help me, I have no idea where to retrieve my pictures.

  1. did you you format the camera?

unfortunately you may have lost all your pictures for good.

  2. You didn't change the format size; you formatted your card and deleted your pictures!  That's what format means.  You might be able to get them back, if you don't put any more images on the card.  Image recovery software can get them back.  If you did put more images on it, then you've permanently lost all your pictures.

For the future, think of format as a delete button that will wipe your card clean.  And please read your camera's manual.  It will tell you how to change your image size.

  3. Have you tried uploading your pictures to your computer?  It may be that because you changed the format size, your camera just won't let you view them, but if you are still showing 32 kb (which happens to be barely any memory at all), they may still be on the card.

  4. 32KB... Hmmmm.. you sure you have pics? in there?  I would guess a single pic would fill that...
