I am looking for people who have experience with Ohdela (Ohio Distance Learning Accademy). Specifically how well the program works, specifically for kindergarten. What did you like/dislike about it? If you have used it, will (did ) you continue with it?

  1. I also have used both OHVA and OHDELA and I preferred OHDELA by far. The teacher are nicer, they are more willing to help and the kids enjoy learning. In my opinion it is more personal, the curriculum is great, and they work with you better.  Hope that helps.

  2. I have a daughter in Kindergarten this year and I love it. She is doing so well. I love that I get to see her learn to read in the process. I do not have any dislikes at this time. I will definitely continue with OHDELA for her. Also she really enjoys many things about OHDELA as well, she loves getting mail from her teacher, having her own computer, and the Wimba class (live learning), that is just a few.
If you have any more questions I would be glad to answer what I can.

  3. OHDELA's Kindergarten curriculum is very hands-on and engaging...Harcourt is used for the Langauge Arts and Math curriculum, and the Science and SS curriculum is teacher made (very hands on and lots of fun for the students!) It is a full day curriculum- and online live-learning classes are also part of the curriculum.

If you have specific questions regarding Kindergarten, call the main number (800-493-8680) and ask for the Kindergarten Teacher....she'll answer any of the questions you may have! :)

  4. I have a child in kindergarten there currently.  It has been great for us.  The teachers are engaging.  To be honest with you I have 5 students currently in the program and another kindergartner to start next year.  I highly recommend them.  I am certain if you ask them they would be happy to let you speak with other parents involved in the kindergarten program.  You can find more info also at http://ohdela.com/parents/support  They recently started a facebook page for families to stay in touch www.facebook.com/ohdela.
