Matta said, “On my first contact with Chris he told me if this was any other college in the country, he wouldn't be interested, He and his wife both graduated from the university and his passion for this place is unmatched. Getting
a guy that has played and coached in the NBA, has won a championship, has been probably one of the best workout guys in the NBA and he's willing to come t o our staff, we had to do it, We're glad to have him."
Jent is arriving from Cleveland where he also worked as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers. His first stint with the Cavaliers was back in 2006, when they hired him as director of player development. Seeing his improved
performance with the team, the Cavaliers’ management promoted him as assistant coach. Jent was instrumental during his entire tenure at the Cavaliers.
During his tenure, the Cavaliers reached new heights and reached a pinnacle when they topped the regular season in 2008-09. They also claimed the title of best defensive team in the NBA that year. The Cavaliers restricted all other
