Ohio medicaid for 22 year old?

i am 22 years old in ohio. i only make about 6000 a year at my job and i cant afford health insurance. i have no children and i pay 550 dollars a month for my rent.. would i be eligible for a medical card? i have a heart problem that requires medications and frequent doctor visits that i cant afford.

  1. Unfortunately, unless you meet the federal guideline for disability, you would not qualify for medicaid in Ohio. Perhaps your doctor could offer you some kind of cash discount. Or you could check out the county facilities to see if they offer a sliding fee scale based on your income. Often prescription medication samples can help with your costs and if you contact the manufacturers of the medications you take, they have programs to help you afford your medications as well.
