  1. Very few athletes make it to Ohio State.  It takes an exceptional and experienced volleyball player.  To get there you will need to play club volleyball.

I found a list of teams in Ohio that you can contact.  There are several with boys programs, and probably one close to where you live: http://www.ovr.org/archives/2008/juniors...

Without your high school having a boys team it'll be that much harder to excel enough to play at the Division 1 level, but you're tall, and will probably grow too -- you've got that on your side.  If you excel at the club level you might get recognized.  Also:  Go to camps!  Every summer go to two weeks of volleyball camp.  I'm not familiar with Ohio State's camps, or even if they have them, but there are several camps on the east coast where you can get intensive training.

So those two things will improve your chances of making the big D1 schools:  Club ball and camps.  It'll still be hard, and the chips are stacked against you, but good luck.

  2. same here! except I'm a girl..lol. But i go to a very small school that i play volleyball for and i sooo badly want to play for Ohio State. I'm just keeping my spirits high. Maybe you should play on a club team or go to one of Ohio States summer camps. Ive been to a couple of them and they are really fun. :)
