Ok, everyone knows the extraction, refinement, and use of oil is harmful for the environment.

Can anyone give me a good source though? I am trying to find a source to justify my claims that the whole life cycle of Oil use is harmful to the environment.

  2. I was going to ask 'Exxon Valdez or AGW', but maybe I should say 'Exxon Valdez AND AGW'.

  3. apparently you want to sit in a cold dark house with no car, and no food ....Just what do you think is going to replace oil...just any time soon...open your eyes and look around....

  4. yea sure we have a lot of other sources that can be used and we all know that the whole cycle of oil is bad but its the only thing thats keeping us together. almost everything runs on oil and switchin is just gonna be a hastle and costly.

  5. GLOBAL WARMING

  6. Oil is a necessary evil to the civilized world. Oil production, refinement, transportation and usage does have some side effects to our environment. However, billions of dollars are paid to the government in the sales of leases, production royalties, taxes, and any pollution incidents are fined heavily and those monies go to the government as well. Not to mention all of the taxes paid by all of the people envolved in the production, refinement and transportation of petroleum based products. Oil companies have a debt to society and it is a debt that they pay happily.

Thank God you are fortunate enough to live in a country that takes your health and the health of the environment so seriously or it could be much worse. While you are fussing and protesting about the petroleum industry, I hope you are walking and riding your bicycle and not using any of that evil black gold in your car, buses, motorcycles or airplanes.I am sure you don't use any plastics, rubber, makeup, candles, and you don't pedal your bicycle on any black topped roads, because i don't want you to be part of big oil's conspiracy to ruin the world.
