Oil Rigs..........?

Does anyone know where you get your Offshore ticket in the UK, my boyfriend really wants a job on an oil rig but we dont know where to start! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

What does he do?  Does he have any skills?  If he has skills that they need offshore, then the company will provide the safety training that he needs.

Diggers, dumpers, rollers?  Sounds like earth-moving equipment... plant operator?  Is it a mining operation?
