Could you please tell me everything you know about oil depletion? How it affects us if oil runs out? How its bad for the earth? etc.

Well, let's see.  It is the most potent, easily transported form of energy there is and we've designed our entire infrastructure upon it.  Our suburban sprawl requires the use of massive quantities of energy to go from A to B, to the store, the soccer game, the job, etc, etc.  Products are transported using it via truck, train, ship and plane.  The military is entirely dependant upon it.  Half of US electricity is produced by burning it.  Our entire economy needs it and we squander it to go on a beer run in our giant bigfoot SuckinggasUV's.

    So we'll be pretty screwed.  Europe will dominate the world economy.  And we'll have another huge depression while all the billionaires move away.

    But to answer your question, oil will not run out because it will become too expensive to extract.  The last half of any given oil reserve is always multiples of greater difficulty to get at and in the end it requires more energy than you get out of it.
