  1. Oil drilling can be very damaging to the tundra vegetation. It can take decades for the plants to recover since the growing season is so short.

  2. We have been drilling and pumping oil up here in Alaska since 1977. The wildlife are just fine with the pipeline. We simply do not have enough oil here to satisfy the needs and wants of the USA. Gas today in Palmer, AK was $4.45 and diesel $5.45. Look up Prudoe Bay for more facts.

  3. there is enough oil in ANWAR to supply the US with 30 years of oil at our current rate of consumption.

Polar bears will die (but they're going to be extinct any ways, am i right?)

  4. This is a total repeat of the 70's. Alaska was going to be our answer then too. What did we do, we put in on the market and sell it to Japan who supposedly helped finance the first pipeline. Any new oil that they drill for is not necessarily going to make it to our tanks. Who ever wants to pay the most for it will get it.
