France = 6.55/ gallon

Italy       = 6.71/ gallon

USA      = 3.00/ gallon

I am assuming that you mean prices for gasoline at the pump and not the Crude Commodity rate.

Gasoline is sold by the Liter not the Gallon so the price per unit at the pump might not look like much, but the price per gallon can translate to $5 or $6 per gallon! I have read that in France the average is $6.50 gal and Italy $4.80 gal. At least - most of the cars you rent are small and get pretty good gas mileage.
