  1. 50:1

A friend of mine has a shop and I asked him the same question and he said every 2 stroke engine leaves his shop with 50:1 mix in it, never a problem.

The older engines that called for a richer mix, say 20;1 is no longer necessary as oil technology has advanced so much.

All you have to watch for in your oil is whether it is formulated for TC (two stroke air-cooled) or TC-W (two stroke water cooled)

Air cooled engines such as chainsaws, weed whackers etc. operate at higher temperatures as water cooled like boat motors so the oil is formulated a bit differently.

Good Luck and have fun on the water.

  2. since outboard motor are soooooooooooo exspensive to repair--you had best call yamaha directly ! or at least call your boat mechanic.. never never never take chances with outboard motors ... since you'll be on the water when it quits.. you're screwed !!!  call your dealer..

  3. With a small 2 stroke engine I would use about 20 : 1 . That works out to 6.4 ounces of oil added to 1 gallon of gas.

  4. 50:1 mix thats 100 milliliters per gallon of gas
