Oily! Oily! I have oily skin (back and face) and hair?

my hair gets oily every single day, i wash it every second day to avoid insanity and reduce water usage been doing this for quite some time and no my hair hasn't been trained to withstand two days without getting oily. been doing this for about 2-3 years

My face and back also get oily, perfect breeding conditiond for those dearly unwanted pimples. I probably get oily after washing within 6 hours. all i know is that after washing in morning it is oily after school. So yes i am in the dreaded puberty stage so obviously that affects the answer. So do you think its just a stage i am going through and in the next year or two (i am 16) i won't get so oily that fast

Or any suggestions to reduce/control oil. Much appreciated!

  1. Okay, about the hair.. I think it has to do with shampoo.

You NEED to use something like Loreal that helps dry skin for your sake. It will help even if you do have oily skin, or simply use alo vera. Have you heard of it? it's an actual plant which has juice inside it and rub it all over your hair and it will become healthier. If not try using coconut oil.

As for your skin, try Proactiv or Nitrogena to avoid the pimples. Drinks lots and lots of water as well. For me, I have a horrible diet and I always break out but I never use like those Nitrogena or Proactiv products. Instead I simply use normal lotion.. Nitrogena to be specific. Every night I rub it all over my face and in the morning it's all clean. Keep this routine because once you don't do it for only one day, your face looks terrible and you break out almost immediately.

I have oily skin too, we all do. You should try using powder all over your face to avoid it. I used to use baby powder when I was in like 7th and 8th grade, now I'm a freshman and I use powder foundation which is kind of a make up. Also use concealer and if you have some scars or pimples, that should help cover it up.

Also bring that with you to school so that every recess you can put some more on.

    G'luck!

  3. probably a stage, btw, if you stick a little bit of baby powder in your hair, it takes away the greasy look:)

  4. If you are a teen, don't stress it usually passes, but make sure that you wash your face at least twice a day, and use an oil free moisterizer to protect agianst oil rebound.... sometimes when you use too many harsh drying agents on your skin you produce extra oil (sebum) and it actually clogs your pores more.

eat right ..that means lots of fresh or frozen(not canned veggies and fruits...try to keep it organic (no pestisides, or preservitives). No oranges, a very low carb diet, good carbs include barley, non-instant oatmeal, winter squash. No alcohol, no sugar, no refined flour products. Use cinnamon, drink green tea, lots of water, no soda or fruit juice, unless you use a juicer. Cook with and eat only olive oil. try not to overcook your veggies, the less the better.

Get enough fresh air and exercise....always wash face after you sweat.

Stay stress free, meditate for at least 20 minutes a day, and a little prayer cannot hurt.

Good products: MD Skincare buy the cleanser, hydra pure mist, and two step exfoliating system, as well as the oil free moisturuzer. If you buy it at www.skin-one.com you will get a 14 day trial of the 2 step exfoliating system, so you can try it out before you buy.MD skincare also has a line for body acne. Make sure that you change your sheets and pillowcases daily (don't let your mom use fabric softner or a lot of detergent and bleach). A little bit of baby powder at the roots of your hair can help with oily hair on the second day- use on dry hair and rub it off with a towel...just a little bit of powder, or I know that they sell a spray called dry clean, but I forget who makes it..it works better then baby powder, also try sleeping with your hair in a ponytail and twisted in a tight bun...for some weird reason that works for me, but I don't have really oily hair, I only need to wash it every 2 days but if I put it up in a bun while I sleep I can go for 3.

A great divice  for zapping pimples is the zeno- you can buy it at blissworld.com, sephora.com or myzeno.com...but bliss and sephora give you samples.I hope I have helped....Oh yeah try a facial, the phyto-organic facial at red door spas (nationwide chain) is great. Also a sulfer mask will help, even for on the spot treatments..Proactive, Murad, sells them....However I don't know if you should use sulfer if you are going to be using the MD skincare 2 in one peel. You can call them up and ask questions, the telephone number is on the web page(skin-one.com). they carry a lot of different products ....so see if MD Skincare is right for you, they may have another suggestion. I really hope your dilema goes away : ) I've been there... trust me.

  5. most of its puberty but im going through the same thing...i know it suks! but i always cleanse my face with a washing foam. and when you sweat, your face gets oily again...its mostly like a cycle lol

  6. Cleanse and exfoliate your skin atleast once a day with hot water and soap or you can use spot creams like clearasil (although it is recommended you do it twice) also drink lots of water and try not to eat too many oily foods :) Look at the link its very useful.
