Oitc antibiotic for dogs?

I cannot remember the name of the antibiotic the vet prescribed to me for my dogs yeast ear infection. I'm pretty sure it started with an "M"... and I know it wasn't Baytril because that didn't work.

Perhaps Malaseb Pledgets? Or Tresaderm?

Try a product called Zymox Otic - it is available online, and is terrific - and  may work.  Many vets sell it, too.  It's glycerin based, with some zinc and some enzymes.  Very safe, and often very effective.  And not a drug... will just kill ear crud and clean the ears very nicely.

Your vet should have the name of the drug on file.. just call the vet in the morning and ask.  If you're thinking of trying to find the drug OTC..  all I can say is "good luck!"

Call your vet and tell them that your dog is  exhibiting the same symptoms as before and ask them to prescribe the same antibiotic if that's what you are asking.

You have to go to the vet again to get antibiotics you cant get them over the counter

Zimox ( perhaps brand name Zymox?) is generally prescribed for yeast infections in the ears.

There is also an ointment available for skin conditions that are yeast related & chronic.

Any health issues,best to see the vet for any changes etc.

Do not guess about what to give.

ZYMOX OTIC Enzymatic solution is what my vet gave me. It almost looks like an eye drop bottle. Very good stuff for yeast in the ears.

TIP: If you have more than one dog, treat them all, even if only one is showing symptoms. They pass it on grooming, and if you don't treat everybody you'll just chase it in a circle.
