Ojha eagerly awaits IPL-5 – Cricket News Update
The emerging left-arm spinner of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PP-Ojha-c2198, is eagerly awaiting the upcoming season five of the lucrative Indian Premier League. He is eager to perform and force his way back into the national team.
The 25-year-old left-arm orthodox bowler hailing from Orissa was overlooked by the BCCI selectors for the Asia Cup squad. He said on Wednesday that he was looking forward to the Twenty20 league to prove himself.
"I am looking forward to this year's IPL to prove myself,” said Ojha, speaking to media reporters after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 on Wednesday.
“It's only a matter of time and I am try to take things positively in my stride," he added further.
The left-arm spinner was also part of the Indian Test squad which suffered a 4-0 Test series humiliation at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, Down Under, earlier this year. However, the young spinner did not play any of the matches.
After sitting out the Tests, Ojha was also overlooked for the Commonwealth Bank series, being replaced by the Jalandhar leg-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahul-Sharma-c83352.
"Getting selected (in the team) is not in my hands, it is the selectors' job. I am looking forward to the domestic season, which is very important for me," said Ojha when asked about his sacking for the CB series and then the Asia Cup tournament.
The 25-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Orissa-c828 spinner has moved to the Mumbai Indians from Deccan Chargers for the fifth edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL), commencing on April 4, 2012. He has been playing for the Deccan outfit since the first season of the league
in 2008. In the last four IPL seasons with the Chargers, he has claimed 62 wickets from 56 matches at an impressive bowling average of 22.19, and a startling economy rate of 7.08 per over.
The opening match of the IPL-5 will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium,Chennai.
