The church I attend was painted this week, all week.. This morning it didn't smell like paint one bit, you could even tell.. But if the fumes still around and could that hurt my baby? And, today I haven't felt much movement at all this past week I've felt it constantly but today it hasn't been much, I'm 21 weeks.

  1. Your baby is perfectly find my dear:). Back in the old days when paints were lead base it could be potentially harmful. But nowadays the only reason your doctor suggests that you not inhale paint fumes is it can make you dizzy and with that heightened sense of smell VERY nauseated. I know from personal experience that this is Very true. As far as movement with the baby I am possitive it is totally unrelated to the painting thats been done at your church recently. If there are movements through out the day, then you are perfectly fine. Some of the movements that your baby will make you won't feel at all. Congrats and take care!

  2. The dr's have told me that as long as you feel around 10 movements per day you will be fine. Some times if baby has been really active for a while they have lazy days!!

  3. You shouldn't worry about the fumes, if you couldn't perceive them you are ok, remember that during pregnancy your sense of smell get more acute and if you didn't get dizzy or felt the smell then the baby is fine. As for the movement, babies have stages of sleep and activity and sometimes you feel them more than others, if you are nervous about this, lay on your left side and drink some juice, laying on your left gets more blood flowing to the placenta and the juice gives the baby a shot of sugar, both of which wake him or her up. If you are still worried about it, I suggest you call your Doctor.

  4. Hi

drink a glass of ice cold water sit down and that should get the baby moving, That's what my midwife told me to do at the hospital when i was worried, Sometimes the baby turns so its legs and arms are towards your back and that's why you can't feel it

I painted my daughters room when i was 7months pregnant and the fumes didn't harm her
