I'm sure other mother's might have had this situation come up before.

Does anyone know if I scan my kid's professional photos at home and then have them printed up at Target/ Walmart or something?

I just realized I ordered the wrong size photo, but I really don't want to wait the 3 weeks it will take to reorder the correct size.

Thank You for your help!!!! Much appreciated :)

  1. ummm  try and take them into the store on your memory or USB drive/card. they are really cheap to print from that....like 12cents a copyhere in aust.

  2. You can probably have it done at Walgreens, but I'm not sure if Target does it...

  3. You're not 'supposed' to copy professional pics....doesn't mean you can't try. If someone says something to you, just say you didn't know.

You are talking about the little kiosks that you do it yourself, right?

**I would think you would have more trouble doing it through  Shutterfly, since someone would actually look at it.

  4. Professional Photos have a code embedded in the paper.  If the store has a Kodak scanner it will pick up the code and ask for a pass code to proceed.  If you don't have the code you won't be able to print it.

  5. Okay, professional pictures are copyright protected by the photographer and/or the studio. You need written permission to copy it period. It sucks. However, you can go ask if they give you permission(I know pictureme at wal-mart sometimes will), my friend told them she was trying to make a locket for her mom and they felt bad for wanting to charge for another whole sheet of pictures, so they let her. Theoretically(and illegally), if you cut off the edges completely and use your own home scanner to do it, yes you could send them to walgreens or walmart for printing, as long as they can't see the copyright symbols. Your computer will change the format(assuming the scanner reads the pictures right, who knows what they're doing with picture paper these days, lol) a little bit and no one will know.

    Good luck!
