Ok, Ok, Ok, lets learn about Olympics?

The first plance in the olympics is for the country wich win more Gold medals, is that clear for you my folks

Why not give 3 point for gold, 2 for silver and 1 for bronze. Then which ever country accumulate the most point is the best or the no one in Olympics.

Who really cares?

The olympics is supposed to just be about watching athletes excel and compete in there sports.

I am really tired of Countries trying to fight about whos better.

I get nothing out of my team winning,so therfore i could care less who wins what.

You really need to find something better to do then sit here and obsess over the olympics.

True.  The medals are 'weighted'.  Gold is worth the most, then silver then bronze.  The states are just REALLY sour because they do not want to believe that the Chinese are crushing them completely in competition.  They will go on and on about the age of competitors, how the Chinese put their kids into Olympic camps, etc.

When they have nothing else to say they will resort to childish phrases that have nothing to do with the argument such as:  "If you like it there, then go live there" or "It doesn't mean they're better than us" or "They have 1/5 of the world population and that is the reason".  Basically they just dodge and deflect the truth.

I *think* I deciphered that correctly. And yes, you are correct. Technically the country that wins the most gold medals is considered the overall 'winner'.

I doubt it, because I've watched the Olympics since 1972 and it does not really matter how many gold medals you won, but rather how many total medals you have.  All the young people from 3rd world countries are claiming China to be the best just because the beginning of the Olympics have sports that they excel at.  China will get their butts handed to them by Great Britain, Russia, Germany, USA and Jamaica during track & field events.  So what, they can have diving and gymnastics because that's where they "farm" and develop athletes by letting them live in cages, starving them and not letting them see their parents for years, just because the politburo, "party chairman" and secret police say so......
