Edwards couldn't get by Bush so he nudged him to make some room. He could have wrecked him and helps trim Bush's lead in the points but he just knocked him from 1st to 2nd in the race. Is that so bad? If Bush had a car that could get around Edwards but he didn't have the space wouldn't he bump him?

  1. Carl's move was a well calculated and a well executed move that didn't endanger kyle, he barely moved him. kyle tried the same thing later on carl and it didn't work. as far as after the race when kyle hit carl twice, carl had his arm of out the window on that side. carl is a better person than me because if kyle had endangered me like that i would have sent him to the hospital. kyle is a great driver that is still very immature.

  2. Bump and running is legal and done all the time.  Kyle shouldn't have taken it personally and retaliated...Carl should not have slammed him back. They got a spanking and now behave.

Thats it. Done. And yes Kyle would have done it and Carl would have done the same thing too.

It's Bristol and a vicious circle.

Gosh it's like no one ever seen retaliation until this past race.

  3. The reason why Kyle was so upset is because he said "2-43 doesn't matter at this point" and he finished 2nd to the only driver that's near him in the points.

  4. Kyle Busch would have done the same thing.  Rubbins' Racin'.  Edwards had the better car and deserved to win.  If Kyle's car was better he would have come back at Edwards and bumped him.

  5. President Bush? Do you mean Kyle Busch. Of course he would have done the same thing-that's racing at Bristol. Busch tried to do the same thing after Edwards passed him, knew he'd try it, drove as hard as he could to get away from him. Edwards had a faster car.

  6. this race is the reason why NASCAR needs more short tracks on the schedule. Still, almost a week later this is a big topic here and on other message boards.

Yes, Busch would have bumped Carl back if he could have caught him. Yes, Edwards would have hit Busch's car after the race if Shrub would have returned the favor...I mean heck...he spun out Shrub when he was only hit repeatedly.

What was wrong through was a season or two ago when Tony spun Gordon on pit lane after the race...everyone is relaxed with the race over and it could have caused injuries to crew members and race officials. (And I am a huge Stewart fan and Gordon hater...LOL)

  7. is george bush racing?

  8. Honestly, I think that it was a totally clean move. It's absolutely okay for "Mr. I whine like a baby Kyle Busch" to knock people around and race dirty. It was uncalled for when Busch ran straight into him... and I give my props to Carl for puttin that little brat in his place!

  9. The reason why Carl bumped Kyle was because Kyle was taking up all of the track driving on the bottom and top (blocking). Carl was slightly faster but not fast enough to just drive by him. Anybody would have done the same thing. Part of the understood rules between drivers are that if you spend too much time blocking then you get bumped out of the way. That's what happened.

  10. I'm not going to say Kyle wouldn't have bumped Edwards cause I'm sure he would have. I just don't understand why everyone keeps knocking Busch. He is a good race car driver and I was at Bristol saw the race and to be honset Busch deserved to win. I think anyone who leads 415 of 500 deserves to win a race.

  11. I seem to recall a few weeks ago at a restart that good ole Kyle jumped the start and pushed JJ over the start finish line and passed him. After the race with his bow complete he stated that that was racing. Carl is no fool. He has seen Kyle and others do this all season and he knew if the tables were turned Kyle would have punted him into the wall. So he did it...   I would bet that if it had been anyone else Kyle has rubbed fenders with this year in Carl's shoes they would have done the very same thing. Like I said months ago. What goes around comes around. So now they are both on probation for 6 races meaning they can not or had better not lean on anybody or they will be in the truck again. Alone or together.... I'de bet Kyle will win that race as well...

  12. yeah he would of done it too. and i don't think carl would of done the same at the end. but there might have been a fight. lol. but it made for a great race at bristol.

  13. anyone would have done waht Carl did, Shrub has and it was exciting, the penalty was the bad thing!

  14. sheesh lighten up its just old-fashioned beaten and bangin

  15. Everyone that is saying Kyle would have done the same thing, are partially wrong. Kyle would have wrecked Carl and that would have given him the win and a bigger cushion in the points. Kyle Busch has said the same thing since he started in cup..."I see checkers or I wreckem". his car was not fast enough to get back around or even catch Edwards so he was even more mad. He knew his car wasnt fast enough so Edwards moved him out of the way. Like Edwards said in post race interview, Busch has done it to him more than once and I am sure the probation wont stop this rivalry.

  16. Yes Kyle would have done the same thing, that's why Carl did it to him .

  17. NASCAR has said that it wants to get back to it's roots. Well, that's what Carl and Kyle did. That's the way racing used to be, and, that's the way it should be now. Go to a local dirt track on a Saturday night and see if I'm wrong. They have all the bumping and banging and fights in the pits on a weekly basis there. I'm getting tired of all the drivers being so polished and clean cut. I was glad to see some REAL racing for once at Bristol last weekend.

Thank God for guys like Tony Stewart and yes, even Kyle Busch that don't care about public opinion. They are real racers, and, I for one am happy to have them out there.

  18. I think what Carl Edwards did was just fine.  That move has been done on short tracks forever.  I just think NASCAR has stepped in because there is a growing rivalry between him and Kyle, so NASCAR can say that "took the steps to control it", or at least put them on notice.  But as you and undoubtedly, NASCAR, can see, it is great for the sport.

  19. If you watch the video on this after Carl did the bump and run, Kyle tries it and failed the next lap.  What happen during the race was no problem.  I agree with you.  Looks like Kyle just had his hopes up and Carl bumped him back to second and then Kyle has to wait 3-4 laps to retaliate in a childish manner.

  20. carl did nothing against the rules, nor against the spirit of racing, especially at bristol. as for kyle being upset about it, i would be too if i just led 415 laps, dominated, and ended up in second - no matter what the reason.

  21. Absolutely!!  Kyle would have punted Carl without even thinking twice about it.  I saw nothing wrong with what Carl did & I wouldn't have seen it differently if it would have been the other way around.  This is the Bristol night race for heaven's sake!!  Along with Daytona & The Brickyard, this is one of the Crown Jewels of the NASCAR season.  I don't care who the driver is, if you're in second & the car ahead of you is slower, you're gonna move 'em.  I like Kyle, he's fiery & the kid can flat-out drive, but he once again showed how immature he is.  I hope he never loses the competitive attitude, but I wish he could channel it into something a little more constructive.
