Ok, crazy question. I need to come up with a "far out" example of a government conspiracy....?

My conspiracy is that "big brother" ensures people on Medicaid, are being given tainted drugs or treatments. This gives the government control over their health, and allows them to "experiment" on them. For example, john doe who has insurance is given good medication. Jane doe, on Medicaid is given a tainted drug to either test harmful things, or to kill off a "deadbeat". Is this a good choice? are there any bits of proof that would lead credence to this conspiracy? thanks

  1. Absolutely not.  Try to come up with something else./

  2. I'm not one for "conspiracies" -- but the government (any one's goverment) is not perfect and can be absolute SOBs in some situations.

Look up "The Tuskegee Experiment" and you can see rampant racism by a section of our government.  Is it a conspiracy?  Well, they did not tell these men that they were infected with a deadly disease and just watched them die like a bunch of guinea pigs in a lab.  You be the judge.

  3. You forgot the aliens!  Honestly, how can you have a government conspiracy without aliens?   :-)

Okay, if you're looking for factual things that could be construed as evidence for your fictional conspiracy, try this:  Most pharmaceutical companies offer free or reduced price drugs to people who are in dire need.  The people who qualify for these programs are typically senior citizens, very poor people who take a lot of drugs, or people with a chronic (incurable) health condition that requires one or more expensive drugs.  So to tie this in to your conspiracy theory - the pharmaceutical companies are in league with the government.  The real drugs only go to people with insurance or people who pay full price for their own medications.  The drugs that are passed out on these "need-based" programs are the tainted drugs or the experimental substances that the government is playing around with.  After all, if the program kills off a few more old people or a few more poor people or a few more diabetics/heart patients/dialysis patients/(etc - you get the idea), it will only serve to make the pharma company richer in the long run.

Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?

Oh, if you want to read some completely daft conspiracy theories, pick up anything written by David Icke.  He takes on big business, pharma, health care, doctors, all governments, capitalism, communism, socialism, Christianity, politicians, the British royals, and even throws in some aliens for good measure.
