  1. Go to Playa Venao in Los Santos, great surf spot, if you like outdoor adventures, hike Volcan Baru(3473 mts amsl) in Chiriqui its a 16 kms trail, a Jeep can take you upthere if you want for 150 bucks.

visit "Las Ruinas de Panama La vieja", "El Casco Viejo", " Summit garden", Gamboa Resort, Miraflores Locks.

    etc...use Google

  2. Well, if you ever make it to Colon, you can go to the picaccel (it's a club). If you understand the language good, and like that kind of music, then you would find it very entertaining. You can even go to the freezone... It's like a big ol place full of stores... But be careful, you can't shop in some of them they only sell in bulk. I don't know a lot about Panama City. I stayed in Cativa because my family lives over there. But there is the mall in Panama City that would be very fun to shop in if you like to shop. Panama City is the more cleaner, more industrialized part of Panama. Colon, is the more country part. But, I suggest you visit both cities often since you'll be there for a couple of months. They both have things to offer, that you may like. If you're really high-maintenance like me, then you'll want to stay in Panama City. It's a lot of fun down there, if you have an open mind. Also, don't forget to stop at some of the beaches! Muy bonita! And don't forget to shop as much as you can (With prices as cheap as down there I would shop all the time) Have fun! The people are really friendly. Have a great time in Panama!

  3. Must sees:

    Casco Viejo (French built)

    Panama Canal visitors center

    Panama Viejo (Spanish built)

El Valle (second largest volcanic crater in the world)

Mi Pueblitos (toruist spot that given a over view of the major cultures that make up Panama)

The train from the Panama Bay in Panama City to Colon (two oceans in one day - Atlantic and Pacific) a beautiful scenic trip beside the length of the canal

    Boquete if you have time

Bocas Del Toro if you have time

Take a day and drive to Lago Bayano (lake Bayano) in the direction of the Darien and stop and one of the indigenous villages along the way.

    Must shop:

    Albrook Mall

    Los Pueblos

    Must eat:

    Manolo's

Las Tinajas (typical Panamanian dance and food at a reasonable price)

The restaurant above the Mercado de Pescado (seafood market)  that your purchase upstairs and they'll cook it to order or let them cook the fish from their menu.

My last suggestion to to take as many trips to Panama as possible because it is impossible to discover all her beauty in one trip.  I've been here a year and still make truly breathtaking discoveries.

  4. Try to catch a sunset at the Amador Causeway.  The view of how the city's skyline lights up is amazing.

For traditional Panamanian food try to eat at a restaurant called El Trapiche on Argentina Avenue.  If you want to catch a Panamanian Dinner show where they show folkloric dances and music you can go to Las Tinajas, or El Tambor de la Alegria restaurant.

For shopping the safest bet is Albrook Mall.  It's big, there's everything for every budget.  You can find expensive stuff, as well as dirt cheap stuff.  If you want more classy stuff go to Multiplaza Mall and Multicentro Mall.

There are a lot of beaches to choose from, so try go to the Caribbean and the Pacific beaches.  In the Caribbean visit Isla Grande, and the Colon beaches in Costa Arriba and Costa Abajo.  Also visit Bocas del Toro, and try to stay for the weekend.  In the Pacific try to go to the Decameron Beach Resort or Playa Blanca Beach Resort.  Both are on a nice beach, and both have different activities for you to enjoy.

If you have friends that can get you into Coronado or Punta Barco, don't miss the opportunity and go.  Those are 2 nice beach communities.

  5. There's a really cool and delicious Italian restaurant in downtown but I can't remember the name.  It's located on the bottom level of an 10 story hotel and the outside dining area is actually the courtyard of this hotel.  We ate like pigs and drank a bottle of wine for less than $40.

If you have time, you have to see Bocas.  Take a short flight from Albrook to Bocas del Toro. Hire a small boat to take you around all the little islands. The water is gorgeous!
