  1. only about 1 can fit in a 5 gallon

  2. For your first question, I'm guessing that you can probably fit 2 or 3 Mollies in the 5 gal tank because for every inch of a fully grown adult fish should have 1 gallon. ( example: Black Mollies get to around 2 1/2 inches in full length of an adult. So that means you should have 2 1/2 gallons for one Mollie) And same for the 3 gallon question. Okay? =]

Some good fish with your baby Black Mollies might be a small school ( 3-4) of Neon Tetras. Or maybe some Guppies. Stick to something small and when the Mollies are full grown, that's when you should move them to a 5-10 gallon tank. ( if you decide to buy about 5 or more fish)

If you didn't have the three Mollies in the 3 gallon tank you could get some small Tetras,Guppies or maybe a Dwarf Gourami with a Pleco, or Corydoras. ( But i wouldn't suggest it. I like to get a school of fish so if one dies there's always more in the tank)

And last but not least, yes, if I'm correct any type to Mollie can get along with a Male or Female Beta. Actually a good selection of fish are able to be tankmates with a Beta. I have one in my tank with Tetras,Barbs,Danios,Pleco, and Corydoras. =]

I hope this answered your questions!! =D

  3. You should never put a mollie in a tank smaller than 20 gal. putting more than one in a 5 gal tank would be the same as you in a 8 bye 10 cell with other people in it there is just no room and your fish will most likely get sick and die

  4. in my own experience i wouldn't put any other  fish in a 3 gal tank apart from the baby mollies  5 gal tank yeah ok for a beta but in the near future u will have to upgrade to a bigger tank  and i would`nt keep the baby mollies in a 3 gallon tank  permanent because where they grow they will need more space
